Mohanlal played the role of Dr Sunny Joseph, a psychiatrist practicing in the United States. He comes down to India on Suresh Gopi's request. A witty doctor, he has a unique style of treating his patients.

This psychiatrist does not totally rule out the role of tantriks (Godmen) in the society. In fact, he takes the help of one such tantrik played by Thilakan to solve the case.

He gives the comic relief in an otherwise serious movie. Akshay Kumar will play this character. He will be called Dr Aditya Shrivastava. Considering Akshay's immaculate comic timing and his ability to do serious roles equally well, hope he does justice to the character.
