The standout fans from the crowd were the group that called themselves the Bollywood Buzz. They were dressed in all Punjabi glory with dhols in hand. They entertained the crowd and interjected great enthusiasm at every break. "We're here for Ishmeet. Usse dilse chaahte hain. After all he’s from our home town, Punjab," said a member of the group.
Devotion brought in most fans, while luck brought along some. "I tried out an sms contest from Mid-Day newspaper and won a pass to this event," said Bhushan Katri from Kutch, who supported Harshit.
Performances
After Shaan's introduction, Ishmeet and Harshit opened the show with the foot-tapping title song from Om Shanti Om . Other performances reintroduced us to the eliminated favourites.
Ten of the original Bemisaal Baraah performed Show me your Jalwa and were later joined in by the finalist with the Chak de title track. Individual performances by Abhas (Naina Thag Lenge), Toshi (Teri Lagan Lagi) and Irfan (Alvida) were real crowd pleasers.
Harshit and Ishmeet both performed with Alkaji and Shaan. But it was the qawwali style parody at the end, which was the show stealer. Ishmeet and Harsheet both performed with great flair and enthusiasm.
Harshit performed many old Amitabh Bachchan hits while Ishmeet sang some Daler Mehndi numbers with the crowds singing along with both of them.
