Dharmendra-Esha Deol

The He-Man of Bollywood made a long journey from Punjab to Mumbai to become one of the brightest stars of tinsel town.

Although his debut film Dil Bhi Tere Hum Bhi Tere was a bummer, his talent was widely recognised, even if underrated, over the years with films like Satyakam, Anupma, Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, and Chupke Chupke. At 70 plus, the warm actor is still going strong with delectable performances in Apne and Johnny Gaddar.

Daughter Esha, who entered films much to Garam Dharam's resentment, may not have had such luck yet. After being launched into movies with the eminently forgettable Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche, the sporty star kid had a hard time living up to expectations, before she struck gold with hits like Dhoom and Dus. Though with the failure of author-backed roles in Ajnabee and Darling, the Deol girl is still waiting for the second Dhoom of her career.
