Shilpa Shetty put herself firmly on the global map, post her win in UK's reality show, Celebrity Big Brother. She followed it up with a superb performance in Anurag Basu's Life In A... Metro.
Now, the actress will be seen in a new film Apne, costarring the Deols -- Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby. Shilpa plays a Punjabi bahu, stressing on the values of a joint family. She tells us more about herself and the film:
How important is this on-going phase for you as an actor?
Trust me, it's very tiring. You can't blow your own trumpet saying that you have done this and that. Ultimately, everything depends upon the audiences' reaction and the way they perceive the film.
I am very happy and proud to be associated with Apne. I signed the film because I really liked the script. My character, Simran, is a modern girl, married to Sunny Deol's character, and living in a joint family. In our society, when a girl gets married, in a way she gets married to her husband's entire family. Her responsibility towards the family increases manifolds.
Director Anil Sharma had faith in me. And it was a privilege working with Dharamji again.
