The president of the 'Gold King Rajni fan club' used to throw flowers as a teenager whenever Rajni appeared on the screen. As a young man he used to watch the films when they were released on the first day of the first show. Now he watches it only in the first week.

His record: Basha more than 20 times and Chandramukhi four times. He started the fan club in 1988 but it became active only in 1995. Apart from distributing sweets on Rajni's birthday, the club members also distribute notebooks and clothes to poor students.

Five years ago the club conducted the marriage of a poor couple. Silk clothes and a mangalsutra in gold, two gold rings and a gold chain were given to the bride and groom. They also fed 1500 guests on the occasion.

Nainarpandian's plans for Sivaji?

"We will put up an arch in front of the theatre and distribute sweets to all those who come to watch it on the first day," he says.
