Meet the Sivaji fanatics

Fans of Rajnikant have something to rejoice about as his new film, Sivaji is all set to release this month.

But none is more eager than the most die hard fans of Rajni. Here are 4 of them, and their plans for Sivaji.

N Sivaraman, 28, was born a Rajni fan. He even has a ringtone, Superstar yaarunna ketta... from a Rajni film.

Hailing from a typical village in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu, Sivaraman makes it a point to watch all Rajni movies on the first day, splurging on tickets. For a first day showing of Padayappa, he paid Rs 200. After having his fill of the films in the theatre, this ardent Rajni fan then gorges on some more when the VCDs come out.

However, Baba was the only Rajni movie that he saw only once. "I did not like it. The movie confused me. There was too much spiritualism in it and did not suit day to day life. We may go to heaven or hell after death but that movie made us think about that when we are living," he says.

A member of a Rajni Fan club in Coimbatore for seven years, Sivaraman says, "On his birthday I used to put out an ad in the local paper and distribute ladoos and sweets. I spend Rs 1000 on his birthday." Now he is a member of his village fan club called 'Gold King Rajni Fan club', which conducts games for the villagers.

His plans for Sivaji?

"We will purchase tickets in bulk for all members of our fan club. We will take them to the theatre in a van and then all of us will enjoy!"
