Musicians who rocked India!

INXS

October 2006 saw the Australian rock band INXS perform in India at the MMRDA grounds. The response was lukewarm.

Though the band has a popular fan base in India, it seemed that the absence of front man Michael Hutchence, (who committed suicide in 1997) might have something to do with the insipid response.

It may be mentioned that the band had chosen their lead vocalist JD Fortune, from a reality show called Rockstar: INXS.

INXS's new album, Afterglow, which was made in collaboration with Indian pop singer Sona Mahapatra has been well received by fans the world over.

In the picture: JD Fortune performs in front of a giant replica of the NRL Premiership trophy before the NRL Grand Final match between the Brisbane Broncos and the Melbourne Storm at Telstra Stadium, Sidney.
