'I wanted Bobby's lines'

What made you do this film?

Jhoom came to me at a very difficult time -- both my parents were in the hospital when I got a message saying that Shaad was casting for Jhoom and that he wanted to meet me.

I was super-excited but at the same time my focus was on my parents. I remember sitting outside the hospital praying that Shaad would wait for me. I sent him a message saying that I won't be available on the phone for five days.

I just kept praying and hoping that he would wait for me, and not think that I was not interested in doing the movie. But he did wait for me and when I heard the script I knew I really, really wanted to do this film. I think it's one of the best decisions that I have taken.

Tell us something about your character in the film

My character is the half-Brit, half-Pakistani manager of the Ritz in Paris. She speaks Hindi in a French accent and is very sophisticated and suave. She is drawn to this person who is completely opposite to her in every way and ends up getting hitched to him.
