Al, the world's a stage

Al Pacino received the American Film Institute's highest honour, the Lifetime Achievement Ward, Thursday night at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.

Hundreds of fellow actors came to pay their respects to the internationally reknowned superstar. His portrayals of mafia boss Michael Corleone in the Godfather trilogy and Cuban drug czar Tony Montana in Scarface are considered iconic, genre-defining performances.

Currently, he's cementing his legacy as the pre-eminent bad guy with Ocean's Thirteen, opening June 8 in theatres worldwide.
