It's one of the first indicators of entering 2007. The New Year hangover in Hollywood disappears with the frenzy of award season, and the Globes are the first of the internationally televised shindigs.
This year, the awards were interesting, threwing several surprises. Here's a look at the big winners in 2007:
Dame Helen Mirren
The first actress to play both Queen Elizabeth I and II, Dame Mirren was undoubtedly the biggest winner of the night, scooping up Best Actress (Drama) for Stephen Frears' The Queen as well as Best Actress (Miniseries/TV movie) for Elizabeth I.
The 62-year-old actress became the first woman to be nominated for three performances in the same year (her third nod was for Prime Suspect: The Final Act) and the two-time Oscar nominee now has a good shot at the golden boy, come February 25.
