And they weren't all filmmakers.
A ravishing Yana Gupta paid close attention, inevitably distracting many a writer. Shabana Azmi, Anu Malik, Bijon Dasgupta were all spotted, but the seminar fittingly belonged to the writers.
Dhoom writer Vinod Krishna Acharya (also dialogue writer for Guru) hid behind his distinctively twirled-up moustache, often seen with Habib Faisal, the man behind Salaam Namaste and upcoming films Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Tara Rum Pum. And then there was Sourabh Shukla, who was quizzed about his Salaam-E-Ishq. For the record, all those who have seen Nikhil Advani's January 26 release seem to be making favourable noises.
Syd's sessions ran for about 90 minutes each, then breaking for a much-needed snack/lunch session. he isn't the most humorous of speakers, but then there was a world of material to run through. This made the sessions relatively dry and to-the-point. But then, since his structural fundamentals are so beautifully simple, the points he makes sometimes seem obvious even if they actually come to us as revelations.
