Shankar: Tell us about the industry status, let us bitch about music?
Sonu: Ahhhh!
Shankar: Please say good things about us.
Sonu: If you all were not there, there would have been a void in the industry. You gave Kal Ho Naa Ho and Dil Chahta Hai. Today, it is business. What will we earn? Music has become marketting. They will create a mediocre artist and make money out of it. Whenever I am out of India, I am happier. I love my country very much and I love the Indian film industry but now they are wearing dirty clothes. There used to be music in India's land but today music has gone down in dirt.
Shankar: Do you feel music is rock bottom?
Sonu: No, it will go down more.
Shankar: Actually, half of our energy goes in composing and half of our energy goes on in convincing. Freedom should be given to the music composer and the singer.
Sonu: If Shankar desires, he can teach music to every singer in the industry. When I sing with him, I feel he is my friend. He will never bring negativity in his work.
Shankar: I am glad you are able to analyse that.
Sonu: I know you must be getting horrendous singers but nobody has badmouthed you. There are some composers who love to harass singers.
Shankar: Why is it so?
Sonu: Initially, I was bothered too but today, nobody bothers me. And those composers who harass singers for no reason are nowhere today. Even if they are there, they don't get respect. Today, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has goodness and respect in the industry.
