Lage Raho Munna Bhai
One of the most beloved films of 2006 is full to the brim with spontaneous moments, emotional and comical. Here's a hilarious gem:
Gandhigiri is no cakewalk as Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) realises after one awkward spottoo many. His friendly approach to his foe (Boman Irani) results in him being at the badgering end of the latter's hired henchmen.
There is apparent tension when the baddies advance towards Munna, Circuit (Arshad Warsi) and Co. Munnabhai stays put. Next, he gets the whack of his life. As per Mahatma Gandhi's policy, 'Saamne wala ek gaal pe mare, to doosra gaal aage karo' (If someone slaps you on the cheek, offer the other cheek), Munna does just that. Only to be slapped right back.
Now a man can take only this much non-violence. He clobbers his offender at the first opportunity, on the pretext that Gandhiji never mentioned anything about a third slap.
Bole to, what cheek, Munna!
