You made a fashion statement with your saris, noodle-strapped blouses and tricolour bangles on the show.
The Indian flag bangles was just for Indian support. Those were just the things I did on the spur of the moment. For the first World Cup (that I co-hosted the show), I wore my own saris. Noodle straps were my idea. It just turned out to be something that got noticed because of the place where I was sitting. It's not like women have never worn noodle straps before. I look back at it and say that noodle straps is a term that got coined by me. Initially, they were called spaghetti straps.
What will you wear for the World Cup next month
(Fashion Designer) Satya Paul has designed some cricket-related saris for me. I have got one sari with signatures of cricketers on it. Another sari is designed with press cuttings of headlines about cricket. Another one has animations of cricketer players. There is also this interesting red sari, which has the seam of the cricket ball printed on the chest. They're designing 50 outfits for the World Cup for me.
