Largely a comic actor, Mehmood took on the directorial helm in 1965, with Bhoot Bangla. Then followed films like Kunwara Baap and Ek Baap Chhe Bete -- massy comedies evident from their very titles. Meanwhile, the prolific actor donned the producer's hat for films like Padosan and Do Phool.
