Nobody would believe that Muthazhagu of Paruthiveeran was portrayed by a girl from Bangalore who has no idea about how village life is. So realistic and powerful was Priya Mani's performance that she won the Best Actress award at the 9th OSIAN Cinefan Film Festival for Asia and the Arab World.
