Movies stretching over moments

This week, with the release of Strangers, we look at some rare times Bollywood has attempted to stick to a few chronological hours, the action happening either over a night, or limited to just one day.

These are films relying on continuity, movies not escaping into cutaways of a few months, where everything happens in the moment: and the ticking of a clock is in realtime. Here are some films definitely worth checking out:

Ittefaq (1969)

Yash Chopra's songless thriller is a must-watch, with the majority of the action taking place over one suspenseful night, as Rajesh Khanna terrorises Nanda. A remake of Signpost To Murder, this one is a gripper.
