'Winds of Change' sweeps Shillong

Over 30,000 people braved the Shillong cold to assemble at the city's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for the Scorpions concert. The five-member band -- lead vocalist Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker (guitars, backing vocals), Matthias Jabs (guitars, backing vocals), James Kottak (drums, backing vocals) and Pawel Maciwoda (bass, backing vocals), -- which arrived in the city on Tuesday, opened the Indian leg of their Humanity World Tour with a bang.

Fans -- young and old -- from the city as well as other parts of the country jammed with the German band to popular numbers like Winds of Change, Always Somewhere, When The Smoke is Going Down, Holiday, Humanity and Rock You Like a Hurricane.
