'I've learnt a lot from Govinda, Salman and Akshay'

She's stunning, constantly in the news, and in December's biggest Hindi release, Welcome.

All eyes are on Katrina Kaif -- as well they should be.

Raja Sen spent a while with the gorgeous Katrina, who had just returned from Australia where she was shooting Singh Is Kinng with Akshay Kumar, also her Welcome leading man.

Kat talked about her new film, shooting Down Under, why she wouldn't take a paycut, and lots more.

Was Australia fun?

Yeah, we had a good time. It's a beautiful place. Stunning, and just so clean. We were staying right on the beach, and just down the road there were these beautiful boutiques. The shooting was hard though, because we were getting up at 4-4:30 in the morning. So it was a bit grueling but (smiles) we had a nice time.

Well, with 4 am schedules, the jetlag must be relatively lesser now, then.

It's worse! You come back and you're like, I'm back -- and everything starts all over again. (Laughs)

Do you actually manage to find time to explore Australia, with a schedule like that?

Oh yeah, we did, because we had quite a few days off -- five days off, I think, which is unusual -- and my mom was there and we had a really good time. It's the first outdoor where my mom's been there for a long time, she was there for a month, so we got to spend time together. It was a good outdoor for her to come, because sometimes it's manic! You don't have a minute to yourself.

You've been seen in a string of highly-visible comedies. Is it safe to call these your kind of movies?

It's just coincidence. I think it's good in the beginning to do commercial films, because a wider audience gets to see you. And I've learnt a lot, an invaluable amount, from these films. Now in my latest comedy, Singh Is Kinng, which we're working on now, I realise what I've learnt, and I'm starting to use it. I'm feeling more comfortable and confident, because I know I've learnt a lot. From watching the people I've worked with -- like Govinda or Salman or Akshay. And I feel like now I can add something more to my character.

So I've learnt a lot from that genre, and I'm doing a lot of different genres next year, and I'm really looking forward to that.
