Billa has become the most talked about film of 2007 after Sivaji: The Boss. Are you scared about the expectations and hype surrounding the film?
Yes, it is a little scary. When I was making the film in Malaysia, we were totally cut off from what was happening here. Only now, I see what people are expecting from the film. To be very frank, I never expected this kind of hype.
After Rajni Sir complimented us on the trailer, we are all the more scared. But his comments made me feel it was worth making the film.
When I started the film, I was all excited about it as you had three versions of it before with Mr Bachchan (Don), Rajni Sir (Billa) and Shah Rukh Khan (Don). The challenge was to make it look still fresh for the audience.
Why were you so excited about making the film?
The biggest excitement was remaking a Rajnikanth film!
