What character are you playing in the film? Is she anything like you?
I play the role originally performed by Saira Banu. My character's name is Sara Raman, who hails from a middle class family. She works at a call center and is forced to ride Victoria to make enough money to bail her dad out of jail.
Sara is the complete opposite of me. She's quiet and simple, and definitely does not have the best dress sense. I, on the other hand love to dress up!
How was your experience working with such great veteran actors like Om Puri (Rana) and Anupam Kher (Raja)?
It was brilliant. I learned so much. They really guided me through the whole process.
What was the toughest part of doing this film?
The toughest part would definitely be speaking Hindi with the right accent. It's not that I don't speak the language. It's just that I've been in London since I was 12 so I have a very thick British accent. I worked with three different Hindi coaches to get the diction right.
