'Akshaye's performance is par excellence'

Bhoomika Chawla effortlessly dabbles between different film industries.

Well-known in the Telugu film industry where she has been working since 1999, Bhoomika has done films in Hindi, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Punjabi and English.

Her upcoming film Gandhi My Father has been directed by Feroz Abbas Khan.

Although the movie is about the tumultuous relationship between Mahatma Gandhi and his son Harilal, (which was earlier explored in a play Gandhi versus Gandhi by the director) the women in the film, Shefali Shah (Kasturba) and Bhoomika (Gulab) have equally important roles to play.

"I was excited when I got the role," Bhoomika says. "The film required hard work and effort. It was shot in sync sound and though it was Anil Kapoor's first venture (as a producer) he was good at it. He ensured that a printed work chart was given to us every day regarding the timings to be followed, which we did to a T."
