'I'm not happy doing character roles'

From a non-entity to a force to be reckoned with, this actor impressed critics with his versatility in films such as Sarkar, Black Friday, Paanch and Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd

The actor in question is none other than Kay Kay Menon. His new film Metro is all set to be released in India, as well as the presgious Cannes Film Festival.

Sonia Chopra caught up with the actor and got him talking about his films.

Tell us about your role in Metro.

I am very excited about Metro. The film deals with city life and the trials, tribulations and stress that such a fast-paced life brings. It's about how each character tries to find some sense of peace in their lives.

I play Ranjeet, a well-to-do, top level executive working in a BPO, who has his own take on city life and his own fundas on how to deal with it. The title of the film is symbolic of the chaos in the lives of its characters.

Do you think your co-star Shilpa Shetty's fame will influence the film?

As far as her international fame is concerned, good for her. But saying that people will be coming to watch the film only because of her fame is derogatory.

I play husband to Shilpa Shetty's character and she has done a wonderful job. The audience should come and watch the film for her performance. That said, if her fame brings more attention to the film, then good. Anything that helps the film is great.
