Sanjaya Malakar, who was knocked off the mega hit contest American Idol last week leaving behind six contestants, has a piece of advise to future contestants: Go for it.
Sanjaya, 17, who kept on surviving in the contest despite quite a few harsh words by at least two of the three judges on the strength of the votes he got from the listeners every week, told rediff.com: "The contest makes you grow as a person. It teaches you to be yourself, to take your destiny in your own hands. It also teaches you to be humble and listen to criticism never mind how strong it is."
Some commentators have been saying that though Sanjaya could not win the title, he has become the national idol.
