Aishwarya-Abhishek Wedding  |     Email this Page  |   Write to us

'They should not break up soon'

We're very glad that Aishwarya Rai is getting married. She is our favourite actress," grin mother-son duo Mohan and Usha Turakam.

Both are teachers and live in Mangalore, which is Aishwarya Rai's hometown. Usha, who was a close friend of Aishwarya's aunt, Naina, is headmistress at Pandeshwar Municipal school. Her son, Mohan, teaches at Infant Jesus Joyland School.

"We were in the same school, St Anne's," she told us in Tulu, a language she is more comfortable in. Tulu, incidentally, is Aishwarya's mother tongue. "Naina was very active and we would participate together in dance and other activities. Unfortunately, we lost touch after Naina got married."

Mohan's glad that the romantic promise the duo showed in films like Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and Kuch Na Kaho is now culminating in their real life love story.

"Hum log bhi kuch nahi kahenge kyunki hame bhi pasand hai Aishwayra aur Abhishek ki jodi (We won't say anything either because we too love Aishwarya and Abhishek as a couple)," says Mohan.

He thinks they make a very, very cute couple and wants them to be the modern-day icon for couples in love. "Unlike others, they should not break up soon. They should be a model couple."

Presenting a week-long special in which we bring you video clips of reactions from Mangalore and Mumbai about what people feel about Aishwarya-Abhishek's wedding.
