Star of some of the biggest hits in recent years including Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Veer-Zaara and Kal Ho Naa Ho, Preity Zinta came to New York on a whistle-stop tour, complaining that kids haven't been seeing her films of late.
"Jaan-e-Mann is an open invitation to them," declared the actress at a launch party for the film that looked like a red carpet for the city's more prominent Indians.
"It is not an epic film," she said of the romantic musical shot mostly in New York, and featuring her opposite Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. "It is the simplest film in the world. Anyone from age 4 to 104 will be able to enjoy it," she added. "Jaan-E-Mann is a film for the entire family."
The actress described last year by New Jersey's Asbury Park Press as having 'Mary Tyler Moore's girl-next-door sass, Shirley Temple's dimples and Marilyn Monroe's curves,' has been pushing the envelope quite a bit working in films such as KANK, which deals with infidelity, and Salaam Namaste, where she gets pregnant while in a live-in relationship.
