'I wasn't stalking Nagesh'

September 21, 2006
The attractive Gul Panag is a bundle of nerves this afternoon. "Yes," she laughs, "but that is all I can possibly be." She hasn't seen her film Dor yet, and is looking forward to the premiere tonight. The film releases tomorrow, and the actress is justifiably suffering from the Friday butterflies. "I hope it all works out. We have worked very hard, and it would be gratifying to see it appreciated."

For Gul, Dor was all about working with Nagesh Kukunoor. Growing up in a boarding school, she connected instinctively with the director's Rockford, and wanted to meet him ever since. "I was completely enamoured by the man who played the teacher," she chuckles. "What an interesting guy. I was always inspired by Nagesh's work and wanted to meet him. Fortunately, it happened during the screening of Iqbal."
