"I want to be Madhuri Dixit," says Punjab-born London girl Geeta Basra, a massive fan of the actress.
Grand dreams have to start somewhere. For now, Geeta stars with Emraan Hashmi and Ashmit Patel in director Aaditya Datt's Dil Diya Hai, hitting theatres this Friday.
In the movie, Geeta plays Neha, a middle-class Punjabi from India visiting London for the first time. "She is a young, modern girl who wants to experience life," she explains. "At the same time, she is also very headstrong and one can't take her for a ride. She has never experienced love. It was easy playing Neha as I resemble her a lot in the first half of the film."
"Dil Diya Hai is an intense love story with me, Emraan and Ashmit. But it's not a love triangle. In London I meet Emraan, a tour guide. The film is about how our relationship begins, how we hate each other and end up falling in love. Emraan's character has grey shades and deceives me at one point, then Ashmit comes and disrupts my life completely."
