But the new film isn't about angular shots of rapidly approaching Impalas. "No, we had to develop our own style."

He considers his Don darker-looking than most current, mainstream cinema. "And there are sections I've only shot with available light, even street light," he reveals, gushing about how a fight between Shah Rukh and Arjun Rampal was shot only with numerous tubelights.

And then begins the Shah Rukh awe. "Jokes aside, he's amazing. Shah Rukh's really cooperative, willing to try anything out, and has incredible enthusiasm."

"Honestly, I have never seen anyone as active on a movie set. Shah Rukh likes to sleep late, but showed up for the early morning shoots too, whenever called, and he's always one of the first to show up. But he works so much better at night. As it gets later and later at night, while everyone begins to tire, his energy levels just keep shooting up. You can't help but say wow."
