The Ten Commandments

Another Cecil B DeMille film, this 1956 classic was tagged 'The Greatest Event in Motion Picture History'. A lot of people still believe it was completely justified.

Despite Charlton Heston as Moses, Yul Brynner as Rameses, and other stalwarts like Anne Baxter, Vincent Price and John Carradine, the 220-minute film could easily have gone wrong. Well, it didn't. Which is good, considering DeMille suffered a heart attack during the production!
