In the great outdoors with Pooja Bedi

Until Veerapan was alive, the wildlife in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka was off limits to the public. Now, many forests down south are open for safaris and trekking. Old resorts are being restored, new ones coming up.

One resort that sprang up a year ago is Bush Betta, spread across 35 acres in the Bandipur forest, 4 kilometres (a 7-hour drive) from Bangalore. On the occasion of its first anniversary, the resort decided to celebrate with Country Club brand ambassador, Pooja Bedi.

The two-day celebration on April 27-28 began the night before, when we arrived. Pooja was there already, and we met her at 11 am the next morning. She had come with her two children, Alliya and Omar, and was excited after going on a safari the previous evening.

Bedi looked hot. She also seemed geared up for two days of safaris, folk dancing, bonfires and trekking. She was happy to be out on official work with her children. Her mother Protima was an outdoors person, after all, and Pooja seemed excited about following in her footsteps.
