Meet Pattiyal star Bharath

Bharath was just one among five actors in Shankar's Boys; the hero among them being Siddharth, who starred in Aamir Khan's Rang De Basanti. The only one who made it big in the Tamil film industry was Bharath, the best dancer in the group.

With hugely successful films like Kadhal, Chellame and now Pattiyal, he has turned into a force to reckon with. He talks to rediff.com about his journey to the top.

When you were chosen by Shankar's assistant from the dancing floor to act in Boys, did you expect to reach such heights?

At the time, I had no idea about what career I was going to choose. I knew what I got was a big opportunity, and was happy about it, that's all. I didn't feel anything more than that.

Was it your ambition to be a dancer?

Dancing was only a hobby for me in the beginning. Slowly, I got really interested in it, and it became a passion. My ambition was to go to the US and do higher studies in dancing, not be a dancer.
