300

From one comic adaptation to another, Zack Snyder has taken on the formidable task of translating Frank Sin City Miller's 300.

The novel revolves around the 480 BC battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta defiantly raised arms against the rampaging Persians. An impossible fight to win, the battle galvanised Greece together and united its people against the Persians. Yes, ladies and gents, the world's first democracy.

Checking out the director's fascinating production blog, it's more than clear that Snyder is a massive fan, and is determined to stay as true to the artwork as possible. After the glorious work Robert Rodriguex did with Sin City, we can expect more blue-screen wonderment. But will Snyder be able to pack all of 300 into one film? It's worth the wait, that's for sure.
