It was a casting coup -- Aamir Khan and Kajol paired up for the first time -- so obviously, there were a lot of expectations from the film.

And it was the charismatic heroine's comeback film.

Before the film's release, it ran into controversy with Aamir Khan's comments on the Narmada Dam issue ruffling feathers in Gujarat and no theatre owner -- except one in Jamnagar -- was willing to release the film in the state.

Even without being released in Gujarat, the film managed to garner Rs 90 crore (Rs 900 million) worldwide at the box office.
