'Arshad is devoid of any ego'

August 3, 2006
"Acting happened to me by accident," says minissha Lamba. The starlet was studying for a degree in literature at Miranda House in Delhi when she was signed on for an advertisement with Shoojit Sarkar for Cadbury. He approached her for his first film, Yahaan, soon after.

"I didn't know if I wanted to pursue films. I wanted to either make cinema my career or continue with studies. Finally, along with my parents, I decided to pick films," says the lovely lady dressed in a knee length figure-hugging black dress.

Born in Aurangabad, Lamba has lived in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Srinagar, Delhi and Kathmandu, thanks to her hotelier father's postings. "When I started shooting for Yahaan, I was in my last year at college," she says. "The second schedule of shooting coincided with my final university exams. So, I would shoot in Mumbai, fly back to Delhi on evenings before the exams, cram the whole night, appear for the exam, come back to Mumbai and shoot from 7 pm to 7 am. It was crazy and I was stressed out."
