Director Vishal Bharadwaj, who gave us the critically acclaimed Maqbool, is back with another film inspired by a Shakespeare play.
Adapted from Othello, the new film, a Shemaroo presentation, stars Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgan, Viveik Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Konkona Sen-Sharma.
Set in the political hotbed of Uttar Pradesh, it is a tale of love, obsession and politics. Omkara is the leader of a band of outlaws. He appoints Kesu as his chief lieutenant, which angers another of his men, Langda Tyagi.
Langda alleges that Kesu and Omkara's lover Dolly are having an affair. Langda persistently poisons Omkara's mind, leading to drama and tragedy.
So what is this film about? Omkara himself, his dark issak (love) for Dolly, or all these characters?
That's a question you get to answer. The film is almost complete, except for one thing. The director is undecided about its title.
And here's where you come in.
