In college, I used to take part in dramatics during the first two years. But my mother wanted me to work in a bank and pursue acting as a hobby. In the third year of college, I wanted to quit dramatics and study so that I could get into a bank.

But I was asked to participate in a competition and that performance got me an offer to act in a commercial play. I did the Marathi play All The Best for four-and-a-half years, travelling all over Maharashtra.

I did sit for the bank exams but did not clear them.

Serials in Hindi and Marathi followed. Then films like Raghu More Bachelor Of Hearts, Resham Ghaat and Bheent happened. I also did a bit role in Aankhen (starring Amitabh Bachchan).

My parents have been supportive of my acting although my mother wanted me to earn a regular income initially. She was sceptical about the money acting got me. Now, they are proud!
