Phase Two of Shah Rukh’s life kicked off at Hans Raj College in New Delhi, where he eventually graduated with honours in economics. He played cricket, football and hockey, until a back injury forced him to take things slow.
The energy once reserved for sport was, possibly, diverted to his other love -- acting.
He began work on his Masters degree at the Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia. A year into the programme, even as his first television serials Fauji and Dil Dariya took off, he was asked to leave because the vice-principal thought his attendance wasn’t up to the mark.
Shah Rukh vowed to return a changed man.
