How different are the two film industries from each other?

To me, Hindi films mean greater exposure. Film industry people here are more flexible and professional compared to their Kolkata counterparts. Though things have started looking up in my city, Tollywood still has a long way to go as far as filmmaking is concerned.

But it will be unfair to draw comparisons because Bollywood far exceeds Tollywood in financial strength. Though a bunch of new filmmakers in Kolkata are interested in whipping up slick productions, lack of funds often dog their way.

For the past few years, however, with the onset of multiplexes in Kolkata, Bengali films have slowly started coming out of their stagnant shell.
