Sharma says he feels "fresh every time I see the film. I saw it twice in Punjab when it was released.
"Moreover, I found out that there is no cheaper way to be entertained in Mumbai. In this heat, you get to sit in an air-conditioned hall for three hours. What else can one hope for in this expensive city?" he asks.
"I hope this film runs for more weeks so that many people who are stranded in Mumbai can come and see the film."
Vinod Mirani, editor of the film trade magazine Box Office, says, "The film has appealed to all classes of audiences because it is a truly entertaining film. In our dictionary we call it a 'library' film. One can keep Sholay, Satte Pe Satta and Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! in this library. Any person sitting with his family can see these films at any time.
"DDLJ has created history. The only other film that could create history was Sholay after it ran successfully for five years, but this film has broken all records and has almost completed 10 years."
