You talked about the first script that was never made into a film. Did you ever go through it and feel like making it?

While I was making Mudhalvan, I floated my own production house with the intention of producing films that I believed in. But my well-wishers, friends and family dissuaded me against making such a film. According to them, audiences expect different kinds of films from me.

Does that mean you will never make that script into a film?

I may do it when I am old; when I have less energy.

But a small film like Kaadhal, from your production house, is the biggest hit of 2005 so far. How do you explain that?

Since that movie was made by Balaji Shaktivel, they accepted it. But people expect big films from Shankar.
