Superstar Rajnikanth's Chandramukhi was not the most eagerly awaited film of 2005. It was Shankar's Anniyan, starring National Award winner Vikram, Sadha and Nedumudi Venu.

From Gentleman to Boys, Shankar's record at the box-office is impeccable.

When Shobha Warrier met the director a day before the release of the film, he appeared relaxed. An excerpt:

A day before the release of Anniyan, you seem very relaxed.

I feel very relaxed. I have 200 percent confidence in my film. After I edited the movie, I saw it with only the dialogues and the visuals, and no background sounds. I found it very promising and interesting.

I am satisfied. Even though I have made the film, my conscience will tell me whether the film was good or bad.
