My character's name in Bewafaa is Anjali, a 20 year old who is enjoying her life. I live with my typically Punjabi family in Canada. Then, my elder sister in the film (Sushmita Sen) dies. Due to family pressure, I get married to my brother-in-law (Anil Kapoor).

After marriage, my ex-lover (Akshay Kumar) re-enters my life and that is the story of the film.

Bewafaa highlights our Indian tradition and reflects how our society is rapidly adapting to Western culture. This film is a reminder to those who have forgotten our culture. A lot of elders in the family, who stay abroad, feel their children don't know Indian culture. It will bring those who stay overseas closer home.

Since I come from a typical middle class family, my values are conservative in this film. My character changes from a girl to a woman to a wife, and then a mother. The biggest challenge for me was to play a mother of two kids.
