Cate Blanchett picked up the award for Best Actress In A Supporting Role for her work in Martin Scorsese's The Aviator.

The film was the big winner of the night, with four awards.

But The Aviator must have initially soared with higher hopes from its whopping 14 nominations.

It also picked up the big award for the night, Best Film, and gathered trophies for Production Design and Makeup and Hair.
