In the run-up to the Oscars, the voting season is currently at its peak, and all the awards make a rush to be announced now because of the hype surrounding their ability to possibly prejudice the voting jury.

So, with Academy Awards voting to be closed and finalised on February 22, another round of Movie and Television awards is always fun. And, in this particular ceremony, the actors themselves have cast the votes!

Here are the big winners from the Screen Actors Guild awards.

Jamie Foxx has been discovered this year as a potent acting force, something unsuspected from his humble comedic origins. Nominated for three SAG awards, for Redemption, Collateral and Ray, Foxx picked up a much-deserved Best Actor award for his fantastic Ray Charles portrayal in Ray.

The actor came on stage and sang for Ray Charles, talked about how the legendary musician had been such an inspiration, and thanked his director Taylor Hackford before acknowledging the profound influence Denzel Washington had on his career.

He has also won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his performance in Ray.

Cate Blanchett won the Best Actress in a Supporting role for her performance in The Aviator, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
