A year of multiplex films and marriages, of comebacks failed and stellar, of surname-sharing superstars hitting the big four-O, of rip-offs and remakes, con-jobs and comedies, and of an actress taking the royalty in her first name seriously enough to become the industry's unquestioned number one.

But, more than anything else, it has been a year of hype. Bollywood headlines have dominated the news, be it for gravity-defying necklines on the French Riviera, casting couch *gasp* revelations, diverticulitis or Oprah.

In short, ladies and gents, most of it has been a year of much ado. About nothing really important.
