On Sunday, Sunjay Dutt swaggered onto stage during the IFFI 2005 closing ceremony for the music launch of his latest film Zinda, and the crowd went wild.

Dutt isn't just the film's leading man, but has also crooned a few lines of the title track, Zinda, along with the composers -- Pakistani band Strings.

Heroes have often sung along in Hindi cinema (Amitabh Bachchan comes to mind), but the trend seems to be at its zenith right now. Here's a look at some of the actors bitten by the microphone bug:

Sanjay Dutt, for Zinda

Sanjay's often lent his voice for Sanjay Gupta films like Kaante and Musafir. His guttural growl is well-suited to deep, raspy lines often dripping with sarcasm.

After the music release, Dutt laughed, "My films haven't been doing too well, and, if that continues, I'll have to keep singing as an alternative career option!"

The actor, who also sang a few lines for Home Delivery, is only half-kidding.
