She is quiet yet confident, soft-spoken yet firm, modest yet decisive -0 that is actress Antara Mali for you. Having worked with director Ram Gopal Varma for years, the actress decided to snap ties with Varma and his team just before the release of a much hyped RGV Film Company production Mr ya Miss.
Antara has been part of important RGV films like Mast, Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon and Naach. Was it a publicity stunt or the result of a major fallout? We tried posing the question to the actress during a chat, but Antara cleverly evaded it. Excerpts from the interview:
How was it working for RGV film?
It felt excellent working for RGV films. I learnt a lot from the unit. My commitment and sincerity towards them too have been unfalling.
What made you snap ties with them?
It's a very personal decision and I don't want to share it with anyone. You reach a particular phase of your career when you need to take some drastic decisions. All these years, I have worked with the RGV unit and have enjoyed every moment of it. There has been time when I have worked exclusively for the unit. No one can question my honesty with regard to it. However, a time has come when I feel I should be on my own and that's exactly what I am doing. I shall be happy if I am not probed further on the issue.
