"I entered the serial as a kunwari aurat, got married, had kids and very soon will become a grandma! In fact, a few days ago, my onscreen baby started calling me mamma after the shot as well! It was so touching," she adds.

Sudha Shivpuri (Ba, in picture) looks as elderly, motherly and caring offscreen as she does onscreen. "Sixteen years ago when I designed my portfolio, my kids (former actress Ritu Shivpuri and Vineet Shivpuri, assistant director to Vipul Shah) were very upset with me. They thought I would be spoiling their father's (Om Shivpuri) name. I still remember the days when Omji and I had to struggle to make ends meet during our theatre days. So I had no issues in making my portfolio. I am glad that I could do justice to my husband's name."
