Clint Eastwood, as is the norm, is the best thing about this film. The story of a has-been trainer goaded into giving a glove-friendly gal much needed guidance turns into a deeply moral conflict.

The film is very well shot, and while Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman picked up acting trophies for their work, Eastwood's was the performance that made the film shine.
